The path from Kathmandu valley to Jiri is built on the hillside passing through the small countryside of Nepal and the sceneries on this route are really watchable. You can watch the views from the bus or sleep, depending on your desire and excitement. We pass through Bhandat village. Bhandar is a small Sherpa village with lots of options for accommodation as well as varieties of food (continental food). The trekking trail towards Bhandar from Jiri passes through a beautiful forest on the uphill leading to Shivalaya Temple, Deurali (crossing small Sherpa villages like Sangbadanda, Khasrubas, and Mahabir). Further trek on the path paved by the stone will lead you to Bhandar. After reaching Bhandar, we will take you to the lodge, where you will stay this day.

We will take lunch before reaching another village, Tragdabuk. After a small trek from this village, we will reach today’s destination, i.e. Junbesi. Overnight stay at Lodge.
We start our trek early in the morning following the trail through Junbesi Khola. You can observe amazing views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Kangtenga, and Thamserku from the trekking trail, which seems really beautiful. Further, we will be passing the path of Rigmo Khola leading to Rigmo village. The trail leading to Chheplung (2,790m-9153ft) consists of uphill and downhill paths passing through the rhododendron and pine forests, dramatic waterfalls, monkeys, and mesmerizing view of snowcapped mountains. We will be following the path through Khairi Khola, Paiyan Village, and Surke. In Surke, we will have our lunch and rest for a while. From Surke, we will take an uphill path to reach Chheplung, where we will be spending the night.
Today we are heading towards the beautiful town of Namche Bazaar (3,440m-11286ft) (gateway to Everest Base Camp), which is the most developed town in the Everest Region. To reach Namche, the trekking trail passes through Dudh Koshi River and Monjo Village towards Sagarmatha National Park (one of the UNESCO’s world heritage sites). Here, trekking permits are checked and verified by authorities. After a long uphill trail, we will reach Namche Bazaar. From this spot, you can clearly view the overwhelming views of Mt. Everest, Thamserku, Kusum Kangaru, Lhotse, Tawache, etc. Overnight stay at Namche Bazaar.
Today is the day to acclimatize and roam around the beautiful town. Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar is very essential for a higher elevation trek towards the Everest Base Camp to be familiar with temperature and weather conditions on mountainsides. We will hike to Hotel Everest Viewpoint and the local Sherpa museum. You can view the magnificent view of Mt. Everest and many more peaks from the Hotel Everest Viewpoint. You can learn or know the enriched Sherpa culture and traditions in the Sherpa Museum near Namche.
Tengboche is one of the best places to stay and is the most popular place in the Everest Region. About 6-7 hours of walk from Namche to Tengboche (3,857m-12654ft). Tengboche houses numerous ancient Buddhist monasteries and is taken as a great place to meditate and perform peaceful Yoga. Talking about the views from Tengboche, you can view beautiful views of mountain peaks like Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Amadablam, etc.
This day, we will make our way towards Dingboche (4,400m-14435ft) in the morning. Dingboche is the gateway to another popular trekking destination in Everest Region, Island Peak (6,189m-20305ft). Dingboche is surrounded by the hill from all sides and subsequently offers beautiful sceneries all around. After trekking for six hours from Tengboche, we will finally reach Dingboche and spend our night there.
Today, you can rest and acclimatize for the coming trek, which is at a higher elevation, and acclimatization makes those treks easier. You can roam around the village or get to the higher spot with the help of a guide. You will get beautiful Mountain views, as well as natural sceneries, which will never disappoint you in this spot.
The trekking trail leading to Lobuche will be quite difficult compared to the trekking trail. The path is full of uphill trails with a thinner amount of air because of high altitudes. You can see the graveyards of climbers while trekking, who didn’t make it to their destination in the Everest region. However, you can view amazing views of tall mountain peaks all around as well as beautiful landscapes and panorama downward.
Today is the most special day because we will reach Everest Base Camp (5,364m-17598ft), the main point of this trek. We will be trekking through the moraines of the glacier with a flat but difficult trail because of thin air. The trekking trail passes through one of the giant glaciers of the world. Once we reach Everest Base Camp, you will surely have one of the most memorable moments of your lifetime. You can observe the clear view of mountain peaks like Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Amadablam & a number of other small peaks. Subsequently, you can see the gravestones of various climbers who lost their lives while conquering the mountains of the Everest region. After spending some moments in Everest Base Camp, we will get back to reach Gorakshep. We will spend that night at Gorekshep.
Early in the morning of this day, we will be hiking towards Kalapathar (5,550m-18208ft) (one of the great viewpoints). The motive behind the name of the place is there are only black rocks and no snow in this spot. Kalapatthar provides you with the most stunning view in the morning and you can observe amazing views of Mt. Everest, which is imaginary as it is very far from the distance and hides behind 2 other mountains. After exploring around Kalapatthar, we will descend towards Pheriche (4,288m-14068ft) via Gorakshep.
After trekking about 7 to 8 hours from Pheriche (4,288m-14068ft), we will reach Namche Bazaar (3,440m-11286ft). The trekking trail is easier because we are coming downward and hence in lower elevations. You can have a view of mountains and visit beautiful Buddhist monasteries on the way. We will spend that night at Namche Bazaar.
This is our last day to trek or walks in the mountainside of Nepal. We will be trekking downwards with the easier trail, comparatively with other days of the trek. This is the last day to have the last look at the mountains and natural sceneries in the Everest Region of Nepal. Upon arriving at Lukla, you can have rest and roam around Lukla Airport (one of the most dangerous airports in the world). We will manage the accommodation as well as a ticket for the next day to return back to Kathmandu valley.
Early morning flight from Lukla will take you back to Kathmandu valley. We will transfer you to your hotel. You can rest for a while and explore around Kathmandu valley.

For everyone who will plan to Trek in Nepal, it is highly recommended that you get travel insurance that covers added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries, or accidents (together with the ambulance, helicopter rescue, and other treatment costs). Your insurance policy should cover the entire activities that you are planning to accomplish throughout your stay in Nepal.
In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, and doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation costs. Also, this trekking trail in Nepal takes you 5,000 m above the altitude, therefore, you also need to ensure that your insurance policy covers treks that go over 5,000 m.
We suggested that you buy your insurance policy from your home country before joining us, as it is difficult buying a local travel insurance policy for foreigners in Nepal.
While you’re in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at a standard hotel (Arrival time and departure time). Your accommodation is at the best local Lodge and Guest Houses where available. The Mountain local Lodges are clean and have comfortable beds. The Lodges are fairly basic and the room is spare with twin beds. Blankets are generally provided. There is a large dining hall and warm fitted with a chimney duct, in which a log fire is lit.
Eating is a big part of the Holiday. Travelling with Northern Trekking Team, you experience a vast array of wonderful Nepalese food, Italian, Thai, Chinese, and several local foods. While on the trek you will be on full board all 3 times meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, with Tea/Coffee) included in the package. Your guide will suggest delicious, hygienic special food during your trips. Generally, chosen menu items are Nepalese meals (Dal Bhat), Tibetan fried bread, various types of soups, Momo’s (steamed dumplings), boiled and fried potatoes, kinds of pasta, and even pizza. So, overall you have a different choice of foods on the trek. During this trek, you will usually have breakfast and dinner at the same guest house.
You should book the service at least 15 days before the trek departure date. After you confirm your trip with us, you should be transferring us a photocopy of your passport or your personal information. The personal information you have to provide us is your first name, middle name, last name, passport number, date of birth, nationality, and gender. Generally, the Everest region has to use Twin Otter and Dornier as primary modes of transport to and from the airstrip. Since you are trekking in the geographically as well as climate-wise most difficult part of the world, it is natural that flights get cancelled. Mountain weather conditions or technical issues are something we cannot predict. In case of cancellation of flights, we can hire a helicopter for you to maintain your schedule. A helicopter facility can only be provided if our clients agree to pay the extra charges. Unwanted to say, the helicopter takes 4 to 6 passengers at a time and the cost can be shared amongst the passengers. We would like to repeat that in case the helicopter service is required, the trekkers must pay the cost. We can help you prepare the documents you need to submit to the travel insurance company for reimbursement. Please be informed that the Twin Otter and Dornier aircraft allow only 15kgs as the weight limit. This weight is equal to 33 Pounds. This weight includes both your duffel bag and daypack. This means you need to pack and prepare your luggage wisely. We suggest you not exceed the limit to avoid an additional cost of USD 2 to USD 5 per kg.
How much money or cash you should be bringing with you depends on how you do the trip and the number of days you want to spend here in Nepal. Much also depends on your spending habits. Generally, you must have to take 10 to 15 USD to spend your expenses, such as laundry, telephone calls, snacks, camera, and mobile battery charging. How much you will be spending during your trekking depends on the standard of the package you have purchased.
