Well, Everest View Trek is a perfect fit for all—from kids (over 4 years) to senior citizens. The itinerary for this trip is specifically designed in such a way that it offers you an astounding view of Mount Everest without reaching the Everest Base Camp. It means people who do not want uphill climbs, would like to utilize a brief Nepal stay, or are vulnerable to altitude sickness can experience this trip to enjoy the scenic beauty of the Khumbu region along with a majestic view of Mt. Everest. Also known as Everest Panorama Trek. The hike will reward you with the glorious view of Mt. Everest (8,849m-29032ft) from an altitude of 3,900m-12795ft approximately.
Everest View Trek begins from Lukla (2,860m-9383ft) where we reach by air from Kathmandu (1,400m-4593ft). The trail leads to Phakding (2,643m-8671ft), Monjo (2,835m-9301ft), Namche Bazaar (3,440m-11286ft), and ends in Tengboche (3,857m-12654ft). The walk along the bank of Dudh Koshi river, suspension bridges, blossoming rhododendrons, lush green vegetation, unique Sherpa culture, and mesmerizing view of Nuptse (7,861m-25790ft), Lhotse (8,516m-27939ft), Ama Dablam (6,812m-22349ft), Kangtega (6,782m-22250ft), and Tawache (6,495m-21309ft) are the major attractions of this hike.
A quick glance at Mt. Everest with a sip of coffee from Hotel Everest View (3,880m-12729ft) is the essence view of this beautiful trek. Many tourists gather here early in the morning to hold the beauty of the world’s tallest peak and this heart-capturing view will be one of the best moments of life to treasure. Khumjung Monastery is another prominent feature of this trip. The monastery gives you an opportunity to observe the Yeti scalp.
Smile please because you are in Kathmandu! Upon your arrival in this city of temples—Kathmandu—one of our team members will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA). Our team will lead you to the hotel.
We will introduce you to your guide who will be with you for the next six days, throughout the trekking period. He will brief you about the trek and the things you need while on the trek.
You can also roam around the streets of Thamel and enjoy this touristic hub of the country.
Early in the morning, we will drive you to TIA, the domestic terminal, where we will catch a flight to Lukla. It is a scenic flight of nearly 35 minutes. The Tenzing Hillary Airport in Lukla is one of the most dangerous airstrips in the world. It was built by Sir Edmund Hillary. He along with Tenzing Norgay Sherpa were the first to scale the tallest peak of the world—Mt. Everest in 1953.
After getting to Lukla, we will arrange porters and proceed toward Phakding.
Walk to Phakding is quite easy as most part of the trail is flat. You will witness a school while on the way to Phakding. It was also built by Hillary. It takes roughly three hours to arrive at Phakding from Lukla.
We head toward Namche Bazaar—the biggest commercial hub of the entire Khumbu region, after breakfast. Walk today is not as easy as it was yesterday but the uphill climb will reward you with scenic beauty. As we proceed, we will walk along the Dudh Koshi river Beautiful. The two suspension bridges you witness from a distance will make your mood. I bet you will not miss this moment to capture forever!
If weather permits, you will also get a distant view of a few peaks—Khumbila, Kusum Kangaroo, Thamserku, and Mt Everest—while on the way to Namche.
Normally, it takes 6/7 hours to get to Namche Bazaar from Phakding.
The beauty of this hike—Everest View—begins today. We will take you to Everest View Hotel on this rest day. On this walk of nearly two hours, the first half is a steep climb and the second is flat.
We will sit in the hotel and enjoy coffee with the heart capturing the view of Mt. Everest ahead. This is the essence of this trip.
We now proceed toward Khumjung. It is a small settlement and Sherpa are the natives of this village. The monastery called Khumjung is the major attraction of this place. You can observe the Yeti scalp here. After spending nearly an hour here, we will return to Namche Bazaar where we will visit a couple of monasteries and the Sherpa museum.
We head toward Tengboche after breakfast. The first quarter of the trail is flat and easy. If weather permits, you will get an astounding view of Ama Dablam. It is really fascinating! The second quarter of the trail is downhill and will lead us to Phurkitenga. We will have our lunch here.
We cross the suspension bridge built over the Dudh Koshi river. Now begins the steep climb which will get you to Tengboche.
The beauty of the Himalayas that Tengboche will reveal in front of you is simply exciting. You will get a glorious view of mountains in 360 degrees and the major attractions will be Mt. Everest, Ama Dablam, Lhotse, Nuptse and Khumbila.
Retracing the path which led us to Tengboche, we proceeded toward Monjo. It will take us nearly six hours to get to Monjo from Tengboche. We will have lunch in Namche Bazaar.
It takes us nearly five hours to get to Lukla from Monjo. You can stroll around this hilly area and enjoy the scenic beauty of the area.
We will try to catch the first flight to Kathmandu as it will get us to the capital at 8 am. It means you will get ample time to roam around Kathmandu.
We will give you a farewell dinner and share your trek experience in the evening. Your feedback matters
Here ends your Everest View Trek and with it, ends your Nepal stay as well. We will drop you in TIA three hours prior to the scheduled flight. See you next season for another trip to a different destination as Nepal is a country with more than 100 trekking trails!

For everyone who will plan to Trek in Nepal, it is highly recommended that you get travel insurance that covers added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries, or accidents (together with the ambulance, helicopter rescue, and other treatment costs). Your insurance policy should cover the entire activities that you are planning to accomplish throughout your stay in Nepal.
In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, and doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation costs. Also, this trekking trail in Nepal takes you 5,000 m above the altitude, therefore, you also need to ensure that your insurance policy covers treks that go over 5,000 m.
We suggested that you buy your insurance policy from your home country before joining us, as it is difficult buying a local travel insurance policy for foreigners in Nepal.
While you’re in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at a standard hotel (Arrival time and departure time). Your accommodation is at the best local Lodge and Guest Houses where available. The Mountain local Lodges are clean and have comfortable beds. The Lodges are fairly basic and the room is spare with twin beds. Blankets are generally provided. There is a large dining hall and warm fitted with a chimney duct, in which a log fire is lit.
Eating is a big part of the Holiday. Travelling with Northern Trekking Team, you experience a vast array of wonderful Nepalese food, Italian, Thai, Chinese, and several local foods. While on the trek you will be on full board all 3 times meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, with Tea/Coffee) included in the package. Your guide will suggest delicious, hygienic special food during your trips. Generally, chosen menu items are Nepalese meals (Dal Bhat), Tibetan fried bread, various types of soups, Momo’s (steamed dumplings), boiled and fried potatoes, kinds of pasta, and even pizza. So, overall you have a different choice of foods on the trek. During this trek, you will usually have breakfast and dinner at the same guest house.
You should book the service at least 15 days before the trek departure date. After you confirm your trip with us, you should be transferring us a photocopy of your passport or your personal information. The personal information you have to provide us is your first name, middle name, last name, passport number, date of birth, nationality, and gender. Importantly, you need to pay 20% of the total price in advance for the domestic flight tickets and hotel booking, and permit process. You can pay the remaining balance before you start the trek.
Generally, the Everest region has to use Twin Otter and Dornier as primary modes of transport to and from the airstrip. Since you are trekking in the geographically as well as climate-wise most difficult part of the world, it is natural that flights get cancelled. Mountain weather conditions or technical issues are something we cannot predict. In case of cancellation of flights, we can hire a helicopter for you to maintain your schedule. A helicopter facility can only be provided if our clients agree to pay the extra charges. Unwanted to say, the helicopter takes 4 to 6 passengers at a time and the cost can be shared amongst the passengers. We would like to repeat that in case the helicopter service is required, the trekkers must pay the cost. We can help you prepare the documents you need to submit to the travel insurance company for reimbursement. Please be informed that the Twin Otter and Dornier aircraft allow only 15kgs as the weight limit. This weight is equal to 33 Pounds. This weight includes both your duffel bag and daypack. This means you need to pack and prepare your luggage wisely. We suggest you not exceed the limit to avoid an additional cost of USD 2 to USD 5 per kg.
How much money or cash you should be bringing with you depends on how you do the trip and the number of days you want to spend here in Nepal. Much also depends on your spending habits. Generally, you must have to take 10 to 15 USD to spend your expenses, such as laundry, telephone calls, snacks, camera, and mobile battery charging. How much you will be spending during your trekking depends on the standard of the package you have purchased.
