A scenic flight to Lukla airport (2,860m-9383ft) (one of the most dangerous airports in the world) from Kathmandu Valley (1,400m-4593ft) begins the trekking journey. The Lukla airport is surrounded by tall mountains and green hills will for sure provide you the vibes of thrilling adventure. The trekking trail from Lukla moves towards the Cheplung Village (2,790m-9153ft), from where you can view an amazing view of sacred Mount Khumbila (5,761m-18900ft). The trekking trail goes downwards, leading you to the Phakding village (2,643m-8671ft). The trail is surrounded by beautiful terrain and tall hills and the sight of the Kusum Kangraru Mountain (6,367m-20889ft) is seen clearly from the village. The village lies in the Dudh Koshi River valley, (north of Lukla) and houses many hotels and lodges, especially for tourism and trekkers. Overnight stay at hotel. Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are included.
This is one of the special days of this trek because you will be visiting the mountain town of Namche Bazaar ((3,440m-11286ft). The trekking journey starts after breakfast at Phakding. The trekking trail leading to Namche Bazaar passes through several smaller villages (i.e. Jorsale and Monjo). Monjo (2,835m-9301ft) is the entry point of the Sagarmatha National Park (one of the UNESCO Natural World Heritage Sites) lying north of Phakding. The overwhelming trail ventures passing through the national park finally lead to Namche. Walking through the Sagarmatha National Park offers alpine woods, small rivers, brooks, and deciduous forests and is most popular for its Sacred Himalayan Landscape. The national park is riddled with Blue Pine, Birch, and Juniper Berries which are home to many endangered species of animals including Himalayan Thars, Langur Monkeys, the Musk deer, and Himalayan Black Bears. Namche Bazaar is the commercial hub of the Khumbu region because of its strategic location on a mountainside, which indeed offers mesmerizing views of the Thamserku Peak (6,608m-21679ft) and the Kongdi RI Himal. Overnight stay at Hotel. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.
Acclimatization is a very essential factor in this tour because of the journey towards higher elevation and Namche is a great place to acclimatize. The sights around Namche are spectacular and staying a day roaming around the town will somehow make your trek easier and comfort avoiding altitude sickness. You can visit the Syangboche (3,780m-12401ft) lying on a hill above the town of Namche after breakfast. From here, you can view an amazing view of Namche and the sights of the Himalayas smiling at you. Further, you can hike to Everest View Hotel, the highest elevated hotel in the world, offering a magnificent view of Mount Everest and many other Himalayan peaks from all of its windows of the hotel. Return to Namche from the hotel visiting the Everest Photo Gallery and the Sherpa Culture Museum on the way. Overnight stay at Hotel.
The trekking trail from Namche goes towards the Dudh Koshi Valley, offering magnificent views of Mount Everest, and finally reaches the village of Tengboche. The trekking trail from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche is filled with the eye-catchy natural scenery of rivers, hills, and Himalayan peaks, and Tengboche village is surrounded by tall hills that are covered in rhododendron trees. Tengboche Monastery, the largest monastery of the Khumbu region lies in this village, from where, amazing views of Mount Ama Dablam, Mount Everest, and several other mountain peaks can be viewed. Moreover, the Tengboche Monastery is also considered the spiritual hub of the Khumbu region and is one of the important highlights of this tour. Overnight stay at Guesthouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.
The trekking trail from Tengboche passes through the Imja River via a suspension bridge and finally reaches Dingboche. Dingboche is called the “Summer Valley” of the Khumbu and contains a long wall, which is built to protect the village’s crops from the cold winds. Dramatic views of Lhotse, the Ama Dablam, and the Island Peak are the key highlights of Dingboche village. Overnight stay at Guesthouse. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.
Dingboche is also a great village for acclimatization to reach Everest Base Camp. Nagarjuna (5,100 meters) lies just above Dingboche on a hill at the edges of the Chhukung valley and the hike is uphill and steep. Upon reaching Nagerjun, you can view panoramic views of Lobuche East, Lobuche West, Kangtega, Taboche Peak, Thamserku, and Ama Dablam. You can also spot the stunning sights of Mt. Makalu and Pheriche Valley on a clear day. Return to Dingboche take a rejuvenating sunbath and relax in the village. Overnight stay at Guesthouse.
On this day, you will be trekking from Dingboche to Lobuche. The trail follows down to the Khumbu Glacier moraine offering mesmerizing views of mountain peaks like Khumbutse, Lingtren, and the Pumori, which are seen beautifully from the moraine. Overnight stay at Guesthouse at Lobuche. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner included.
Trekking about 2-3 hours from Lobuche, we will get to Gorakshep, which is a tranquil location dotted with lodges. From here, the trail goes all the way to the top of the edge, which indeed reaches the Everest Base Camp (base camp of the highest peak in the world). We can consider this palace as heaven because of the sight of the Khumbu Icefall and the view of the Khumbutse and Lingtren mountains looks quite heavenly for all the visitors. After spending some time at the base camp and sightseeing all around, return to Gorakshep. Overnight stay at Guesthouse.
A hike to Kalapatthar from Gorakshep is another highlight of the trip. Kalapatthar is a well-known and popular viewpoint providing panoramic views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Chagatse, Lhotse, and the Pumori among many other mountain peaks. Similarly, the Kalapatthar hike early in the morning provides an amazing sunrise view, which is gazing and amazing. The sun rises from amidst the Mount Everest Mountains and it changes the color of the mountains from silver to gold. After sightseeing at Kalapatthar, return to Gorakshep and heli fly back to Lukla. The 13 Days Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek with Northern Trekking Team takes 13 days in total, including airport transfers, Kathmandu sightseeing, acclimatization days, and the complete trekking journey to Everest Base Camp and Kala Patthar.
The Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek is considered moderately challenging. While luxury lodges and premium services add comfort, trekkers still walk 5–7 hours per day at high altitude. With proper acclimatization and expert guidance from Northern Trekking Team, the trek is safe and achievable for fit trekkers.
The highest point of the trek is Kala Patthar at 5,545 meters, which offers the best panoramic views of Mount Everest. Everest Base Camp itself is located at 5,364 meters.
During the trek, Northern Trekking Team provides stays in luxury lodges with attached bathrooms and hot showers where available. In higher-altitude areas such as Lobuche and Gorakshep, you will stay in the best available clean teahouses with shared facilities.
All breakfasts, lunches, and dinners during the trek are included. You will also receive tea or coffee with each meal, daily afternoon tea with snacks, and fresh seasonal fruits after dinner.
Altitude sickness can affect anyone, but the risk is minimized through proper acclimatization days, gradual ascent, and daily health monitoring. Northern Trekking Team provides an oximeter, first-aid kits, and trained guides to ensure safety throughout the trek.
Previous high-altitude trekking experience is helpful but not mandatory. Good physical fitness, regular cardio training, and a positive mindset are sufficient. Northern Trekking Team supports trekkers of varying experience levels.
Yes, travel insurance is mandatory and must cover high-altitude trekking, medical emergencies, and helicopter evacuation. This is essential for safety in the Everest region.
The best seasons are spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November), offering stable weather, clear mountain views, and comfortable trekking conditions.
Yes, the package includes shared helicopter flights between Kathmandu, Lukla, and Gorakshep, as outlined in the itinerary, ensuring comfort, time efficiency, and stunning aerial views of the Himalayas.
The trek requires a Sagarmatha National Park Permit and a Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality Permit, both of which are arranged by Northern Trekking Team.
Wi-Fi and charging facilities are available at most lodges for an additional cost. Luxury lodges may include these services, but availability can vary at higher altitudes.
Northern Trekking Team provides one porter for every two trekkers, carrying up to 20–22 kg of shared luggage, ensuring comfort and responsible trekking practices.
Complimentary use of sleeping bags, down jackets, and trekking poles is provided if you do not have your own. These must be returned after the trek.
Northern Trekking Team offers experienced guides, luxury accommodation, transparent pricing, safety-focused operations, and personalized service—making your Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek in Nepal comfortable, safe, and unforgettable.

For everyone who will plan to Trek in Nepal, it is highly recommended that you get travel insurance that covers added expenses that might result due to various health issues, injuries, or accidents (together with the ambulance, helicopter rescue, and other treatment costs). Your insurance policy should cover the entire activities that you are planning to accomplish throughout your stay in Nepal.
In addition to this, the policy should also cover death, misplaced luggage, theft and liability, cancellations, medical treatment (counting hospital charges, cost of the medicine, and doctor’s fees) as well as repatriation costs. Also, this trekking trail in Nepal takes you 5,000 m above the altitude, therefore, you also need to ensure that your insurance policy covers treks that go over 5,000 m.
We suggested that you buy your insurance policy from your home country before joining us, as it is difficult buying a local travel insurance policy for foreigners in Nepal.
While you’re in Kathmandu, your accommodation is at a standard hotel (Arrival time and departure time). Your accommodation is at the best local Lodge and Guest Houses where available. The Mountain local Lodges are clean and have comfortable beds. The Lodges are fairly basic and the room is spare with twin beds. Blankets are generally provided. There is a large dining hall and warm fitted with a chimney duct, in which a log fire is lit.
Eating is a big part of the Holiday. Travelling with Northern Trekking Team, you experience a vast array of wonderful Nepalese food, Italian, Thai, Chinese, and several local foods. While on the trek you will be on full board all 3 times meals (Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, with Tea/Coffee) included in the package. Your guide will suggest delicious, hygienic special food during your trips. Generally, chosen menu items are Nepalese meals (Dal Bhat), Tibetan fried bread, various types of soups, Momo’s (steamed dumplings), boiled and fried potatoes, kinds of pasta, and even pizza. So, overall you have a different choice of foods on the trek. During this trek, you will usually have breakfast and dinner at the same guest house.
You should book the service at least 15 days before the trek departure date. After you confirm your trip with us, you should be transferring us a photocopy of your passport or your personal information. The personal information you have to provide us is your first name, middle name, last name, passport number, date of birth, nationality, and gender. Importantly, you need to pay 20% of the total price in advance for the domestic flight tickets and hotel booking, and permit process. You can pay the remaining balance before you start the trek.
Generally, the Everest region has to use Twin Otter and Dornier as primary modes of transport to and from the airstrip. Since you are trekking in the geographically as well as climate-wise most difficult part of the world, it is natural that flights get canceled. Mountain weather conditions or technical issues are something we cannot predict. In case of cancellation of flights, we can hire a helicopter for you to maintain your schedule. A helicopter facility can only be provided if our clients agree to pay the extra charges. Unwanted to say, the helicopter takes 4 to 5 passengers at a time and the cost can be shared amongst the passengers. We can help you prepare the documents you need to submit to the travel insurance company for reimbursement. Please be informed that the Twin Otter and Dornier aircraft allow only 15kgs as the weight limit. This weight is equal to 33 Pounds. This weight includes both your duffel bag and daypack. This means you need to pack and prepare your luggage wisely. We suggest you not exceed the limit to avoid an additional cost of USD 2 to USD 5 per kg.
It depends on how much money you have brought with you and how many days you want to spend in Nepal. Also depends on your spending habits. Generally, you must have to take 10 to 15 USD to spend your expenses, such as laundry, telephone calls, snacks, camera, and mobile battery charging.

Taking lifetime experience, trekking to Everest Basecamp is my dream come true. I choose Ming Mar as our guide because my friend great past experience. He served, guided and
motivated very well throughout the whole journey. Without him and his team, we couldn't make it to EBC safely. I would come back to Nepal and take another trekking tour with him

Mingmar is a friendly and professional guide who helped make our first visit to Nepal and the beautiful Himalaya's a truly wonderful and enjoyable experience. Not only did we feel completely safe with his knowledge and guidance, up at the high and exposed altitudes that we were trekking. But he also went the extra mile behind the scenes to ensure all the other aspects of our trip, including the accommodation and meals etc were all as good as they could possibly be as well.
I hope to return to Nepal some day and look forward to joining Mingmar and the Norther trekking team again..
