Would you like to make the most out of your brief Nepal stay? Experience Namobuddha hike.

The best aspect of this hike is that it will give you an opportunity to witness the Buddhist culture and traditions that are practiced in the eastern part of Kathmandu. Additionally, the walk will also reveal the spectacular view of the Himalayas. EXCITING!

Hike to Namobuddha is located outside of Kathmandu Valley 1,400m-4593ft. The hike begins from the early morning after breakfast but prior to this, we will drop you in Dhulikhel 1,550m-5085ft—the starting point of this hike. It is roughly a hike of five hours. The walk will unfold some of the ancient villages of Kathmandu Valley where live Tamang people. They are natives of this area and practice Tibetan Buddhism. The stupas, monasteries, prayer flags, and wheels are fascinating for you. The hike will bring you to Namobuddha and this name is derived from a renowned monastery—Namobuddha—which is the key attraction of this hike. As per legends, the monastery is built on the bones and hair of prince Mahasattva who was very compassionate and kind. He offered his body to a hungry tigress that left his hair and bones on which the monastery was built later to honor his compassion.

The second summit on the same hill will bring us to another stupa which is said to be the den of the tigress. All in all, the hike will offer you a cultural outlook of Nepal and people’s faith in religion especially, Buddhism. A large number of people visit this site especially tourists from Thailand, China, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and so on.

After the hike, we will accommodate you in a resort/homestay near Namobuddha. You will enjoy the scenic beauty of the Langtang range early in the morning. After breakfast, we will get back to Kathmandu in a private vehicle.
