Located in the north of Pokhara 822m-2696ft, Dhampus Hike offers a spectacular view of renowned snow-capped peaks of the Annapurna region—Annapurna I 8,091m-26545ft, Dhaulagiri 8,167m-26794ft, and Machhapuchhre 6,993m-22942ft (Fishtail) Mountain.
Dhampus Hike will mesmerize you with its beautiful landscape. The culture and traditions of the Gurung people and natives of this place are so fascinating. They have their unique identity and typical culture which requires ‘Rakshi’ homemade liquor for any kind of auspicious occasion.
They are also regarded as people of courage which they exhibited during the 1st and 2nd World Wars while fighting in support of the British Empire. The majority of Gurung along with Magar still join the British or Indian Army.
Dhampus Hill is one of the renowned vantage points of the Annapurna region from where you can witness spectacular Fishtail Mountain.
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, we will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and escort you to the hotel after extending a warm welcome.
We will introduce you to your tour guide who will be with you throughout the tour period. If time permits, you can stroll in the street of Thamel and enjoy the nightlife.
We catch a tourist bus to Pokhara early in the morning after breakfast. A ride of roughly six hours will bring us to Pokhara. We will be following Prithvi Highway to get to this city of lakes—Pokhara.
You will get an opportunity to witness the countryside of Nepal while on a ride. The majestic view of snow-capped peaks before entering Pokhara will capture your heart.
Upon your arrival in Pokhara, we will lead you to Phedi. It is approximately half an hour’s drive. This is the starting point of our Dhampus Hike. It takes three hours to get to Dhampus.
The Sunset view from this place is so peaceful and pleasant.
We hike toward Sarangkot after breakfast. But before the start of the trek, we once again visit a vantage point in Dhampus from where you get a magnificent view of Fishtail Mountain. This beauty of towering peak will leave a deep impression on you forever.
We leave Dhampus behind to get in Naundanda. The view of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhe, Dhaulagiri, and Lamjung Himal from Sarangkot is awesome. The site is also popular for sunrise and sunset views along with adventure, paragliding.
Pokhara is not that far from here and despite this, we will hire a jeep to get into this city of lakes. It is because early arrival in Pokhara will provide you with ample time to explore this city. Major attractions of this city are:
Early in the morning, we catch a tourist bus to Kathmandu from Pokhara. Following Prithvi Highway and riding along the bank of Marshyangdi and Trishuli River, we enter Kathmandu Valley by 3 pm.
In the evening, Northern Trekking Team will offer you farewell dinner.
