In the afternoon, we will have a pre-trip meeting where we will introduce you to your guide, go over the itinerary and answer any questions you may have about the trek. Day 2 of our Mera Peak Climbing with Amphu Lapcha Pass Trek is dedicated to exploring the beautiful Kathmandu Valley and preparing for the trek.
Trek begins with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Lukla. The flight offers spectacular views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, as you make your way to the gateway of the Khumbu region. After landing in Lukla, we will meet with our trekking crew and begin our journey to Chhuthang.
The trek starts with a gradual ascent through beautiful rhododendron forests, passing by traditional Sherpa villages and monasteries along the way. The trail gradually becomes steeper as we make our way to Chhuthang, which is a small village located at an altitude of 2920m. The trek takes around 4-5 hours to complete. Overnight in Chhuthang.
Trek starts with an early breakfast before we set off for Thuli Kharka. The trail today is challenging as we will be crossing the Zatrawala Pass (4600m) before descending to Thuli Kharka.
The climb to the pass is steep and can be challenging, but the views from the top are absolutely breathtaking. From the pass, we can see the stunning panorama of the surrounding peaks, including Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho-Oyu, and Mt. Ama Dablam.
After crossing the pass, we will begin our descent to Thuli Kharka which is a beautiful alpine meadow located at an altitude of 4200m. The trek takes around 6-7 hours to complete. Overnight in Thuli Kharka.

Khare is a small village located at an altitude of 5100m and is the last stop before we reach Mera Base Camp. The trek takes around 7-8 hours to complete. Overnight in Khare.
Trek is designated as an acclimatization and rest day. The purpose of this day is to allow our bodies to adjust to the high altitude and to prevent altitude sickness.
After breakfast, we will take a short hike around Khare village. The hike will help us to acclimatize to the altitude and also allows us to explore the surrounding area. We will also have a briefing session with our guide on the climbing techniques and use of climbing equipment.
We will spend the rest of the day relaxing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings. You can also use this time to catch up on your journal, read a book or simply enjoy the stunning views. We will also have an early dinner to prepare for the summit climb the next day. Overnight in Khare.
Trek starts with an early breakfast before we set off for Mera High Camp. Today's trek is relatively challenging as we will be ascending through rugged and rocky terrain.
The trail offers great views of the surrounding peaks, including Mera Peak. We will also cross the Mera Glacier and pass through the Mera Peak Icefall. The trail becomes steeper as we make our way to Mera High Camp, which is located at an altitude of 5800m.
Once we arrive at Mera High Camp, we will set up camp and enjoy dinner together. We will also use this time to prepare for the summit climb the next day. This includes checking and organizing our climbing gear and getting a good night's rest before the big climb. Overnight in Mera High Camp.
Day 10 of our Mera Peak Climbing with Amphu Lapcha Pass Trek is the summit day. After an early breakfast, we will set off for the summit of Mera Peak (6,476m). The climb is challenging and requires the proper use of crampons and an ice axe. The trail is steep and rocky, and the last section involves climbing a narrow and exposed ridge. The climb will take around 6-8 hours to complete.
Once we reach the summit, we will be rewarded with breathtaking panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Makalu, Mt. Cho-Oyu, and many more. We will spend some time on the summit before descending back to Mera High Camp.
After the summit, we will pack up our camp and begin our descent to Khongma Ding, a beautiful alpine meadow located at an altitude of 5350m. The descent will take around 4-5 hours to complete.
Once we arrive at Kongma Khongma Ding, we will set up camp and enjoy dinner together. This is a great opportunity to celebrate our summit's success and to reflect on the past few days of our trek. Overnight in Khongma Ding.
Today is a rest day at Kongma Khongma Ding. After the challenging climb to the summit of Mera Peak, it is important to take a day to rest and recover.
You can use this day to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings, catch up on journaling or reading, or simply take a leisurely stroll around the area. You can also use this time to check and organize your gear, and to make any necessary repairs.
We will also have a briefing session with the guide on the next stage of the trek which is the Amphu Lapcha Pass. Your guide will go over the itinerary, the route, and the logistics for the next stage of the trek.
We will also spend this day on acclimatization, allowing our bodies to adjust to the high altitude. This will help to prevent altitude sickness, and ensure that we are properly prepared for the next stage of the trek. Overnight in Kongma Khongma Ding.
Day 12 of our Mera Peak Climbing with Amphu Lapcha Pass Trek starts with an early breakfast before we set off for Seto Pokhari. Today's trek is relatively challenging as we will be ascending through rugged and rocky terrain.
The trail offers great views of the surrounding peaks, including Mera Peak. Seto Pokhari is a beautiful alpine lake located at an altitude of 5200m and is the last stop before we reach Amphu Lapcha Base Camp. The trek takes around 6-7 hours to complete.
