Trekking in the Dhaulagiri region is challenging as well as rewarding because one should face some of the extreme challenges in the trail but also can get an opportunity to see the mighty Dhaulagiri range from a closer view. Trekking in the shadow of the world’s seventh highest mountain is a lifetime dream for all the trekkers and mountaineers of the world. Dhaulagiri Circuit trek takes the trekkers to one of the remote, isolated, and unbeaten land of our country in the Himalayan region. Starting from the sightseeing of magnificent Himalayan ranges to getting an opportunity to explore the wildlife and wide vegetation, the Dhaulagiri region has lots of things to offers to its visitors.
Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek offers some of the majestic vies of Himalayan ranges including the highest mountain of the world Sagarmatha, Annapurna I, II, III & IV, Ganesh Himal, Langtang ranges, and closer and majestic view of Dhaulagiri ranges. You will also get an opportunity to explore the lifestyle and culture of people living in the Dhaulagiri region. The main objective of our circuit will be to cross two high mountain passes, the French pass (5360m) and the Dhampus pass (5234m). Sightseeing the rare animals and birds found in this area is also another major attraction of this circuit.
Dhaulagiri Circuit Trek starts with a short drive to Beni. We will start our trek from Beni and pass many ancient villages and settlements to reach the base camp of Mt. Dhaulagiri. One can do the sightseeing of snow-capped mountain ranges from the base camp. Leaving the base camp behind, we will trek to cross the French Col pass and reach the Hidden Valley. Trekking ahead will take us to Dhampus pass and then crossing this pass will take us to Jomsom from where we will fly to Pokhara and then end our tour in Kathmandu.
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu, Northern Trekking Team will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and drive you to the hotel.
We will also introduce you with your tour guide who will be with you throughout the tour period.
After breakfast, we catch a tourist bus to Pokhara. It is a scenic drive of nearly six hours following Prithvi Highway. The ride is pleasing as you will be riding along the bank of Trishuli and Marshyangdi River.
Upon your arrival in Pokhara, we will transfer you to the hotel at first where you can get fresh before enjoying a walk-in lakeside in the evening.
We will drive you to Beni today by local bus. It (Beni) headquarters of Myagdi district. The drive will acquaint you with countryside Nepal. The town of Beni is situated in the confluence of two renowned rivers of Nepal—Myagdi and Kali Gandaki.
Trek begins from today. Isn’t it exciting? Yes, it is.
Walking along the bank of Myagdi River and passing through a couple of picturesque settlements such as Mangalghat, Singha, and Tatopani, we move ahead. You can take a dip in Tatopani (Tot Spring). They say that a dip in Tatopani is a perfect cure for skin diseases.
The further walk will lead us to Simalchour followed by a bridge from where (bridge) Babiachour is not that far away.
Hike to Dharapani from Babiachour is roughly five hours and this hike will unlock the beauty of lush green vegetation, river and a couple of beautiful settlements.
An initial part of a hike today is an uphill climb. Don’t worry it is gradual ascending till a ridge. The trail becomes a bit easy hereafter following the downhill course. Crossing Gatti River and Phalai village along with a couple of Magar settlements, we reach Muri.
Initially, the trail is downhill. We cross a stream and terraced fields to get in a ridge. We climb uphill to arrive at a pass. The specialty of this pass is that it unlocks the awe-inspiring view of Mount Ghustung South. What a view you get! Spectacular!
The trail from here is downhill. We arrive in Naura from where begins ascending followed b descending trail to get in Boghara.
Hike today is a bit arduous but the initial phase of the walk is downhill till a ridge. We arrive in Jyardan. The course ahead from here will bring us in Lipshe.
Walking amid thick woods will lead us to Lapche Kharka.
It is going to be a bit tough walk of around six hours today. Initially, it is a descending trail which passes through the terraced field before arriving at a ridge. You move further towards a forest to Jyardan. Despite being permanent it is the remotest settlement of this area. Now we are close to Dobang.
The trail is uphill but prior to that, we have to cross a wooden bridge. We enter inside a thick forest. A couple of minutes of walk will unfold the beauty of Dhaulagiri, 8,167m, and this is truly heart capturing the view.
We cross Myagdi River to enter in Charter. Choriban Khola is a couple of hours away from here.
Today’s hike is of around seven hours. We arrive in a glacier from where the view of Tukuche Peak, 6,837, and Dhaulagiri I is majestic. Italian Base Camp is a couple of hours from here.

In order to adjust your body with the increasing altitude, acclimatization or a day rest is essential. You will be exploring the local area despite a rest day.
We wake up early in the morning and proceed toward Glacier Camp. This we do in order to avoid bad weather condition that is likely to feature at anytime soon.
The hike today is challenging because we will be walking in a stone fall prone area. Mastering all challenges, finally, we arrive at Glacier Camp.
A day to capitalize your dream! Yes, we will be at Dhaulagiri Base Camp today after walking for roughly seven hours.

Here too we take a rest as we need to adjust our body with increasing altitude in order to avoid altitude sickness. Roam around the local area.
The hike today is challenging but rewarding as well. The hike to French Pass will reveal the beauty of Mukut Himal (6328m), Tashi Kang (6386m), Sita Chuchura (6611m), Tukuche Peak (6920m) and Dhaulagiri I.
Hike to Dhampus Pass is rewarding as it will offer you a majestic view of a couple of peaks of Annapurna Region. In total, you will be walking for six hours roughly to get in Yak-Kharka.
The trail today is quite easy. A walk of nearly five hours will bring you in Marpha. The village is popular for an apple orchard and wine made of apple. Do not forget to take a sip of apple wine here!
This is going to be a walk-in picturesque site. Yes, the view, winding river and folk songs that you will listen on the way to Jomsom is fascinating for any trekker. Relatively, it is a short hike but heart melting.
Early in the morning, we catch a flight to Pokhara. It is a scenic flight of roughly 20 minutes.
We will have the entire day to explore Pokhara. Things to do in Pokhara today:
We ride to Kathmandu following Prithvi Highway and reach the capital by 2 pm. In Kathmandu, you will get time to roam around the street of Thamel and can purchase a gift for your family and friends.
In the evening, we will offer you a farewell dinner and exchange your experience.
