The Mardi Himal Trek

The Mardi Himal Trek was officially opened only in 2012 and has yet to attract many tourists and trekkers like other treks in Nepal. It is also known as the hidden treasure in the Annapurna region and you can explore many unexplored regions of Annapurna. The trek offers you an amazing view of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchre and Manaslu ranges. The major attractions of this trek are The Mardi Himal Base Camp, Siding village, Lwang, and the beautiful mountain ranges.

This trek provides you the opportunity to explore the off beaten track trail while enjoying the hospitality of the local people. You can get an opportunity to get up close and personal with the Himalayan ranges in a novel route of The Mardi Himal Trek. The trekking route lets you walk through the diverse landscapes filled with dense rhododendron forest. You can even get to visit the untouched lakes, beautiful villages and observe the jaw-dropping view of the Himalayan mountains. Moreover, it helps you to explore the hidden side of the Annapurna region and takes you on a journey inside a less explored region. If you enjoy walking on the scenic Himalayan trail and want to discover the charm of the Himalayan region of Nepal, then you should be a part of The Mardi Himal Trek.

The trek starts at Kande which is an hour drive from Pokhara. The trail is good, first slowly up and then even steeper to the Australian Camp (2060m) which takes about an hour. Then we should head downwards to Pothana (1950m) and then up again to Deurali (2100m). After that, we head to the forest camp through the jungle and then we reach the low camp. As we start to climb upwards the trees start to get smaller and after an hour we will see the spectacular view of Machhapuchhre and Annapurna south. Finally, after trekking along with the ridge for 4-5 hours, we reach our destination, The Mardi Himal Base Camp.
