Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Northern Trekking Team warmly welcomes you in this land of Himalayas, Nepal. We will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and drive you to the hotel in Thamel.
You will be introduced with the guide or trek leader who will be with you throughout your adventure period—18 trek days. He will brief you about the trip and will dictate with essential things to bring for the trek.
If time permits, you can roam around the streets of Thamel and enjoy this touristic destination of Nepal.
Day 02: Flight to Lukla/Trek to Phakding (2,600m)
Well, trekking begins from today but prior to that, we have to reach Lukla. It is a starting point of our trek. We get in Lukla by air. It is a scenic flight of 40 minutes. Built by Sir Edmund Hillary, the airport in Lukla—Tenzing-Hillary Airport—is one of the beautiful airstrips of the world. He along and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa were the first to scale the Mt. Everest in 1953.
After arranging porters in Lukla, the much-awaited adventure of life begins—Everest Three Passes Trek. Witnessing traditional Nepali cultures and lifestyle of hilly people, we proceed toward Phakding.
Day 03: Trek to Namche Bazaar (3,450m)
We head toward Namche Bazaar—biggest commercial hub of entire Khumbu region, after breakfast. Walk today is not that easy as it was yesterday but the uphill climb will reward you with scenic beauty. As we proceed, we will be walking along the bank of the Dudh Koshi river. The two suspension bridges that you witness from a distance will make your mood. I bet you will not miss this moment to capture forever!
If weather permits, you will also get a distant view of a couple of peaks—Khumbila, Kusum Kangroo, Thamserku and Mt Everest—while on the way to Namche.
Normally, it takes six hours to get in Namche Bazaar from Phakding.
Day 04: Acclimatization day
The beauty of this hike—Everest View Trek—begins from today. Yes, we will take you to Everest View Hotel on this rest day. On this walk of nearly two hours, the first half is a steep climb and the second is flat.
We will sit in the hotel and enjoy coffee with the heart capturing a view of Mt. Everest ahead. This is the essence of this trip—Everest View Trek.
We now proceed toward Khumjung. It is a small settlement and Sherpa are the natives of this village. The monastery called Khumjung is the major attraction of this place. You can observe Yeti scalp here. After spending nearly an hour here, we will get back to Namche Bazaar where we will be visiting a couple of monasteries and Sherpa museum.
Day 05: Trek to Thame
Well, time to move on. In respect to EBC, we will head toward Nyangpala Pass following clockwise direction. It (Nyangpala Pass) used to be a traditional trade route connecting Nepal and Tibet. Nearly a walk of five hours will bring us in Thame.
Do you know Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Apa Sherpa were born in Thame? Norgay along with Hillary was the to climb the Mt. Everest whereas Apa scaled the tallest tower of the world for record times, 21.
Day 06: Trek to Lungden
Roughly four hours of walk from Thame will bring us in Lungden. Here you will observe Nangpa La. It is a glacier pass that shares a border with Tibet.
Day 07: Explore Lungden
It is acclimatization day today. We will explore the local area and also prepare for tomorrow’s climb.
Day 08: Trek to Gokyo (4,800m) Via Renjo La Pass (5,368m)
You will be at the top of Renjo La Pass today. But before scaling the pass, we need to pass through a tricky path with curves and crevasse. Mt. Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse and Makalu along with Gokyo Lake are the prominent views you get from the pass.
We follow a downhill trail to arrive in Gokyo.
Day 09: Gokyo Ri Exploration
On this day of acclimatization, we will lead you to several places that will unfold the beauty of Khumbu region. The spectacular views of Himalayas from Gokyo Ri is heart capturing. You will also visit fourth and fifth Gokyo Lake. The key attractions of the site are Mt. Cho-Oyu, Gyachung Kang, Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makulu along with Ngozumba Glacier.
Day10: Trek to Thagnak (4,650m)
Walk today is quite short and we will get in Thagnak by the first half of the day. The view of Mt. Everest from Thagnak is marvelous.
Day 11: Trek to Dzongla (4,830m) via Cho La Pass (5,420m)
What a wonderful day of life! You will be experiencing another pass today—Cho La Pass. We will start our hike early in the morning because harsh weather condition during the late morning or noon can ruin the entire hike impacting our trek schedule.
The view of Ama Dablam from the top of the pass is awesome. JUST AWESOME!
A further couple of hours walk from the pass will lead us to Dzongla.
Day 12: Trek to Lobuche
Thank god the hike today is relatively easy. By noon, we will be in Lobuche. It means we will be walking for nearly four hours.
Day 13: Trek to Gorak Shep/Hike to Everest Base Camp
How exciting it is to imagine a day that makes your dream tangible. Isn’t it exciting? Yes, it is. Today, you will reach at EBC via Gorak Shep. The trail to Gorak Shep from Lobuche is rough and rocky. The view of Pumori (7,145), Nuptse (7,745), Lingtren (6,697) and Mt. Everest are the major attractions of Gorak Shep.
On the same day, we hike to EBC and spend a couple of hours here. We retrace the path to Gorak Shep where we will spend a blissful night.
Day 14: Hike to Kalapatthar (5,545m)/Trek to Lobuche
It is going to be one of the longest hikes of the entire trek campaign. We will head toward Kala Patthar early in the morning to get a sunrise view. Here, you will be surrounded by mountains in 360 degrees. The view of Mt. Everest along with Lingtren, Khumbutse, and Changtse are majestic from here. After spending nearly an hour here, we proceed back to Gorak Shep for breakfast and then head toward Lobuche.
Day 15: Trek to Chukung (4,740m)/Cross Kongma La (5,528m)
The hike today will lead us to a remote part of the Everest region. We will get closer to Nuptse wall. From the top of Kongma La Pass, we will get a beautiful view of Khumbu glacier and peaks such as Cholatse, Taboche, Cho Oyu, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Makalu, Baruntse and Ama Dablam.
A further couple of hours walk from the pass will bring us in Chukung.
Day 16: Climb Chukung Ri (5,546m)/Explore Chukung valley
It is going to be a great day today as you will be experiencing peak climbing—Chukung Ri. No worries! It is one of the easiest climbing in the country. You will do it easily. The major attractions of today are Amadablam, Amphu Labcha peaks, Mt. Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu, Baruntse, Cholaste, Thamserku, Kantega and Tawache peak.
Day 17: Trek to Pangboche (3,985m)
Following the downhill path, we move toward Pangboche. The beautiful villages in the valley of Imza are impressive.
Day 18: Trek to Namche Bazaar
We will be passing through thick forest to reach Namche Bazaar. You will get a beautiful view of Amadabalam, Thamserku, and Nuptse from Sansa.
Day 19: Trek to Lukla
It takes us nearly five hours to get in Lukla from Namche Bazaar. You can stroll around this hilly area and enjoy the scenic beauty.
Day 20: Fly to Kathmandu
We try to catch the first flight to Kathmandu as it will get us in the capital at 8 am. It means you will get ample time to roam around Kathmandu.

Day 21: Back to your Destination
Here ends your Everest Three Passes Trek—Renjo La, Cho La, and Kongma La and with it, ends your Nepal stay as well. We will drop you in TIA three hours prior to scheduled flight. See you next season for another trip in a different destination as Nepal is a country with more than 100 trekking trails!
