Dhampus Sarangkot Trek is one of the best short treks which takes the trekkers to the beautiful land of Pokhara and Sarangkot. One can get an opportunity to trek in the shadow of the mighty Annapurna range and explore the hidden beauties of the Annapurna region. This adventurous trek takes the trekkers between the tow famous mountain viewpoints, Dhampus and Sarangkot. This short three-day trek gives you enough time to refresh your body and mind from your stressed life and gives you an opportunity to try something new and adventurous in your boring life.

Dhampus Sarangkot Trek offers the visitors with the spectacular panoramic view of snow-capped Himalayan ranges that one can easily see from the viewpoints. One can do the sightseeing of some of the highest mountain ranges of the world such as Everest (Highest mountain of the world), Annapurna, Fishtail, Dhaulagiri, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu and other many beautiful mountain ranges of our country. The major attraction of this trek is the sightseeing of the majestic sunrise and sunset that one can easily see from Sarangkot and Dhampus peak. This trek is ideal for all the ages, even for elderly people and families with kids. You can also have a great view of the Pokhara city and Phewa Lake from this viewpoint. You can watch the daily lives of villagers, see them working on the farms and interact with the local friendly people.

Dhampus Sarangkot Trek starts with a scenic drive to Pokhara. We will then trek via Bagar and reach Sarangkot hill. After the sightseeing, we will trek ahead and reach Dhampus peak. The trail consists of trekking via different dramatic and unique landscapes and you should also pass many oak and rhododendron forests. Trekking down via Dhampus Phedi will bring us back to Pokhara.


Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Welcome to Kathmandu. Northern Trekking Team will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu and transfer you to the hotel located in Thamel—the key touristic hub of the capital.

Despite your arrival, we encourage you to roam around this town of Thamel. It is really interesting as thousands of tourists like you stroll in the street of this touristic hub.

We will introduce you with a trek guide who will be with you throughout your trek and a city tour guide who will accompany you tomorrow while Kathmandu sightseeing.

Day 02: Kathmandu Sightseeing

This roughly eight hours trip will begin from the historic site of Nepal—Kathmandu Durbar Square. The site is an open museum with a history of over 500 years.

Similarly, we will lead you to Pashupatinath temple followed by Swoyambhunath and Bouddhanath.

Pashupatinath is a popular Hindu Shrine where nearly a million people visit every year to worship Lord Shiva. The English translation of Pashupatinath is Lord of Animals.

Swoyambhunath and Bouddhanath, on the other hand, are renowned Buddhist pilgrimage site. Both stupas have their own importance among Buddhist.

All aforementioned four sites are listed under UNESCO cultural sites.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara (850m)

You will be driving to Pokhara—City of Lakes—today. We will reach there following Prithvi Highway. The ride of six hours will acquaint you with the countryside Nepal. The greenery that you observe while on this ride is heart capturing.

In Pokhara, you will get time to roam around Phewa Lake. Boating in this lake is quite popular. So, we suggest you not to miss this event.

Day 04: Drive to Phedi/Trek to Dhampus (1,750m)

Phedi is half an hour ride from Pokhara. Hike to Dhampus begins from here. Observing countryside Nepal, we head toward Dhampus. It will take us three hours to get in Dhampus.

The destination—Dhampus—is popular for sunrise and sunset view.

Day 05: Trek to Sarangkot (1,600m)

Early in the morning, we hike to a vantage point at Dhampus form where we will witness a spectacular view of Fishtail Mountain.

We head back to our homestay (hotel), have breakfast, and proceed toward Sarangkot.

Sarangkot will unfold the beauty of Annapurna I, Machhapuchre, Dhaulagiri and Lamjung Himal. You can also experience paragliding here as it is the most popular site to experience this adventure.

Day 06: Hike to Phewa Lake/Half day Pokhara Sightseeing

We will reach Phewa Lake within two and a half hours from Sarangkot.

Upon your arrival in this city of lakes, we will lead you to popular touristic sites of Pokhara such as Bat Caves, Mahendra Caves, World Peace Stupa, and Devis Fall.

Day 07: Drive to Kathmandu

We catch a tourist bus to Kathmandu from Pokhara. We will be following Prithvi Highway and riding along the bank of Marshyangdi and Trishuli River while on this ride. We get in Kathmandu Valley by 3 pm.

In the evening, Northern Trekking Team will offer you a farewell dinner.

Day 08: Back to your Destination

Here ends your Dhampus Sarangkot Trek and with it, your Nepal stays as well. We will drop you in TIA three hours prior to scheduled flight. See you next season for another trip in the different destination of Nepal as this country has more than 100 trekking trails!
