Cycling To Muktinath

Jomsom to Muktinath is one of the best cycling trails in the world. It is an exciting ride as the trail leads to Muktinath—one of the holiest sanctuaries of the country—that is in the bottom of Throng La Pass in renowned trekking trail of Annapurna region.

The pedaling track on the bank of Kaligandaki River is exciting and thrilling at the same time. So, courageous enough to experience it? If yes, the adventure will lead you at an altitude of 3,760m through challenging track.

The topography of Nepal favors cycling and number of adventurers who want to taste this typical aspect of Nepal on the ride is increasing at a significant rate over the course of years.

This one of the majestic experiences of your life begins from Jomsom and passes thorough Kagbeni, Muktinath, Tukuche, Tatopani and ends in Pokhara.

Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Namaste and welcome in Kathmandu. To make your adventure and tour one of the best experiences of life, we will be at your service from the first day of your arrival.

One of our team members will receive you at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) and will welcome you warmly and will escort you to the hotel.

Today, we will introduce you with your city tour guide who will be with you tomorrow revealing information about the touring sites.

In the evening, you can stroll around the street of Thamel, the key touristic hub of Kathmandu.

Day 02: Kathmandu sightseeing

The tour guide will lead you to four UNESCO listed sites located in the capital—Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Bouddhanath, Swoyambhunath, and Pashupatinath.

You will be provided with a private vehicle for today’s sightseeing.

Day 03: Drive to Pokhara

Following Prithvi Highway, we will be riding to Pokhara and reach this city of Lakes by 2 pm as it is a pleasant ride of roughly six hours.

In Pokhara, you will get ample time to roam around and enjoy boating in the Lake of Phewa.

We will accommodate you in the hotel with the best service facility.

Day 04: Fly to Jomsom/Ride to Kagbeni

Finally, here arrives the day to cycle in the dreamland of Annapurna region! But prior to this, we have to fly to Jomsom and it is a scenic flight of nearly 20 minutes.

You can relax for a couple of hours in this beautiful town of Jomsom. The mountains, landscapes and the vegetation in Jomsom will deliver a sense of ecstasy to you.

Well, from here begins our much-awaited ride.

Nearly 14km ride on a flat surface will bring us in Kagbeni that is at an altitude of 2,800m. Riding along the bank of Kaligandaki River is fascinating for you.

Day 05: Ride to Muktinath

Huh! Riding today is an uphill task! Following the motorable dusty course, we proceed toward the north. The Jhong monastery on the way to Muktinath from Kagbeni is one stopover where we will be having lunch.

By noon, we will be in this religious site of Muktinath. It is at an altitude of 3,760m. The temple-Muktinath—is a major attraction. It is a temple of Lord Bishnu—Hindu God—where a Buddhist priest performs worship following Buddhist rituals.

Day 06: Ride to Tukuche

Thank god the trail is downhill today. To avoid the wind, we start our pedaling early in the morning. You will be witnessing awe-inspiring views while on this ride. We get in Marpha. The specialty of this place—Marpha—is Martha. It (Marpha) is a name of a local wine made of apple which is quite popular across Nepal. The name of the wine is driven by the name of the place—Marpha. A further couple of hours ride will lead us to the village of Tukuche.

Day 07: Ride to Tatopani

Passing through beautiful settlements of Annapurna region and rhododendron forest, we arrive in Rukse Chahhara. Following the bumpy and rocky trail, we arrive in Tatopani. The word Tatopani means hot spring in English. There are a couple of such hot springs here where you can also take a dip.

Day 08: Ride to Pokhara

It is an easy ride following the motorable course. We arrive in Beni and leave the cycle here and catch a jeep to Pokhara.

In Pokhara, we will enjoy and relax.

Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu

Following the same road, Prithvi Highway, we get back to Kathmandu. You will be in this City of Temples by 2 pm.

In the evening, Northern Trekking Team will offer you a farewell dinner for experiencing the package through us.

Day 10: Back to your Destination

With loads of memories to cherish, you will be leaving Kathmandu.  We will drop you at the airport three hours prior to scheduled flight. See you next season for some other adventure!
